Your Period is One of the Natural Ways to Detox Iron

Ladies, we have so many reasons to fight for our period. Our hormones and metabolism depend on it. It drives our libido. It gives us progesterone and GABA, which are anti-anxiety. It’s pro-thyroid. It’s how we can make babies. It’s a monthly report card for our health.🧾
▪️
Did you know that it’s also how we detox iron?
▪️
Women are naturally blessed with the ability to detoxify iron. Thank goodness, because women’s higher estrogen levels means we’re better at absorbing iron than our male counterparts.♀️
▪️
In his book, “From PMS to Menopause,” Dr. Ray Peat talks about how women can absorb 3X as much iron as men. Pregnant women can absorb 9X as much as men. That’s A LOT!
▪️
Luckily, nature gave us a natural ability to detox iron all by ourselves. Amazing isn’t it?🤯
▪️
This is why having a cycle is SO important. Not only is it important for good hormones, it’s important for staying HEALTHY.
▪️
Don’t have a cycle? Don’t fret. Check out my last post for how you can still work on iron levels.
