Silver Supplements: An Alternative View

Silver supplements, especially colloidal silver supplements, are extremely popular in the alternative health world, especially for immune system health. But what if they’re not all they’re cracked up to be?

Taking minerals — or really anything in isolation for that matter — can often create more imbalance and deficiencies.
▪️
There are two main reasons I don’t ever recommend silver supplements:
▫️
#1. They disrupt copper metabolism, which disrupts our ACTUAL metabolism. Colloidal silver supplements mess with our body’s ability to create energy. Since the start of disease always starts with an energy deficiency, anything that does this — including silver supplements — promotes disease.

#2. They don’t EVER leave the body!

“[Colloidal silver] will accumulate permanently between your cells, including the skin, causing it to look black or tarnished (the oxidation process of silver). These so-called “nutritional supplements” simply don’t dissolve, and their byproducts have to accumulate somewhere.

...their mineral residues can end up in between your cells, or in your bloodstream, clogging up things and generally getting in the way. Eventually, these mineral residues become permanently deposited in between the cells, causing inflammation, cell compression, peripheral vascular disease, atherosclerosis, heart disease, and stroke. That’s how these substances escalate the disease processes they are touted to treat.” - Dr. Robert Thompson

What about nano silver? While it doesn’t seem to disrupt copper the same way that colloidal silver does, this technology works by driving things as far into the body as possible. It's something I personally stay far, far away from. If you know, you know.😉

What about topical silver? While this isn’t quite as harsh as the supplements you take internally, we still absorb 60% of what we put on our bodies. I think those are pretty good chances of getting into our bloodstream.

Instead of using silver supplements for immunity, I personally work on creating nutrition and lifestyle habits that build up my immune system all-year round.👍
