Sources of Stress

stress

Do you feel stressed?
▪️
Maybe not, because as I talked about in my last few posts, stress hormones increase our alertness and actually numb our pain, hunger, etc.
▪️
There can be 1,000 kinds of stress, and you may be experiencing multiple at this very moment without even realizing it.
▪️
As Dr. Hans Selye described, stress is a response to any demand being placed on the body. If the body doesn’t have the resources it needs to respond to a stress, this is where compensation and eventually disease happens.
▪️
What connects stressors, no matter how different they are, is the similar response our body has:
▪️
↗️Release of adrenaline, noradrenaline, aldosterone and cortisol
↗️Release of dopamine
↘️Loss of magnesium
↗️(and an increase in iron)
▪️
In short, we can’t discount the impact a stressor - whether we realize it’s a stressor or not - is having on our body. Everything is up for re-evaluation when trying to heal.
▪️
💥Our mineral and nutritional status can actually dictate our resilience in responding to stress. Without these in place, it can be a vicious cycle of compounding stress. This is why I focus so much on minerals and food strategy in my practice.💥
▪️
Do any of the stressors in the picture above resonate with you?

Addendum: undereating, breastfeeding, menstruation, NPK fertilizer, GMO foods, processed food,, pesticides and herbicides, xenoestrogens, imabalanced blood sugar should all be included in this list too!
