When I Stopped Seed Cycling, I Started Ovulating

Story time!

I had been on the birth control pill for 8 years before I became informed and realized the slew of health issues I had experienced were directly correlated.

My period came back in 2-week increments. I was losing my hair and my face erupted in cystic acne. I wasn’t ovulating.
🔸
Of course my doctors had no other health advice other than getting back on the pill or taking a different one, so I started doing my own research.

Then I came across seed cycling, which was touted as being the most “natural” way to regulate your cycle through food.

I ate copious amounts of pumpkin, sesame, flax and sunflower seeds for a few months. And to be honest, absolutely nothing improved health-wise. I put on a few pounds and my digestion got really bad. My hands and feet got colder and colder.

I got sick and tired of making my weekly seed concoction and one day I said “screw this.”

Within just a few weeks, I felt a huge shift in my digestion and warmth. And I started ovulating again! My skin started clearing up and my hair loss started slowing down.

Seed cycling didn’t work for me. Usually women dealing with cycle issues, especially having come off the birth control pill, are dealing with an immense amount of inflammation. So seed cycling can provide a bit of short-term relief.

Instead of using seed cycling as a bandaid, I always work with my clients on lowering their overall inflammation with a proper nutrition and lifestyle strategy that suits their situation.
