Eggs for Fertility.
Eggs are in my Top 2 when it comes to fertility foods. There’s a reason why they’re often called “the perfect fertility food.”
Just one egg packs nutrients that are incredibly supportive to reproduction and overall health. These include:
⤳Choline
⤳Vitamin A
⤳Vitamin Đ
⤳Vitamin K2
⤳Vitamin E
⤳Folate
⤳Biotin
⤳Iron
⤳ɀinc
⤳Selenium
⤳Copper
They’re also an excellent source of protein and fat.
A single egg contains 147 mg of Choline, over 1/3rd of the recommended daily value for non-pregnant women. They’re one of the most Choline-rich foods.
Choline is important for many reasons. One of the most notable is that it helps prevent neural tube defects. (Sanders et al) This means that Choline needs to be in sufficient supply before the neural tube closes, which usually happens around weeks 4-6 of pregnancy.
My favorite way to eat eggs? Sunnyside up on literally ANYTHING.
