Acupuncture For PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) ✨✨✨

acupuncture pcos tcm

Acupuncture is a key part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It uses extremely fine needles (less thick than a piece of hair), inserting them into specific points on the body to trigger stimulation to the area. The goal is to bring blood flow to the specific body part, as well as healing compounds that reduce inflammation.

PCOS is characterized by a few things, including irregular cycles, high levels of androgens, insulin resistance, and hirsutism (hair growth).

*In Chinese Medicine, PCOS can correspond with:

☯ Kidney Yang deficiency

☯ Spleen Qi/Yang deficiency

☯ Liver Qi stagnation

*In women with PCOS, acupuncture has been shown to:

〰 Increase insulin sensitivity

〰 Decrease androgens (like testosterone)

〰 Promote weight loss

〰 Promote ovulation

〰 Promote menstruation

〰 Improve LH (Luteinizing Hormone) LH

〰 Improve LH to FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) ratio

〰 Improve pregnancy rates

*Acupuncture can be an amazing accompaniment to other strategic nutrition and lifestyle changes.
